Getting Married Earlier Than Planned Because Of A Mistake The Doctor Made

From January 2007 on I wasn't feeling well. Visiting the doctor didn't resolve anything, first I was told it was the flu and then it was a virus etcetera. In the meantime my boyfriend and I spoke about getting married in August 2008. On the 16th of May in the morning I went, accompanied by my boyfriend, to the doctor again but my doctor was on vacation so I had a substitute. This female doctor wanted to examine me and said immediately "oh, you’re over 20 weeks pregnant!". My boyfriend and I couldn't believe our ears.
After a quick pregnancy-test we had a result: I was indeed pregnant. The assistant arranged an appointment with the midwife for the same afternoon. Outside the doctors-office we both had to cry. We wanted to have children so we were really happy. But we also wanted to get married before we got any children and so engagement rings were exchanged soon after! So we agreed to see if we could marry before the baby would be born. We had already planned a vacation to London in June so we decided to change the vacation of our honeymoon.
On the 26th of June 2007 it was our wedding day. Fortunately I didn't gain too much so I could get married in the “princess Sissy-dress” I always wanted. Because we didn't know if we were expecting a boy or a girl, my boyfriend had arranged a wedding bouqet with blue and pink ribbons in it. Really beautiful! We got married in castle "Kinkelenburg" in our little town Bemmel in the Netherlands. The weather forecast for that day was rain, and we did get some but only at the moments we were inside.
We had a family diner and after that a reception at our own home. We hadn't expected an awful lot of people because we married on a Tuesday, but there were more than a hundred guests on our reception! We had a really great wedding day and had a wonderful 3-day honeymoon in London with a visit to the musical Lord of The Rings at the West End. In August 2007 our daughter was born and now, three years later, she has a little baby sister!
